17:05 I can top that. Because it was part of my build concept, I beat Old King Doran on NG before Phalanx (on the PS3 version). It wasn't hard, it was just really repetitive and took forever. You can exploit the AI of both the REK and Doran and kill them extremely early, it just sucks and is miserable. Don't be like me. Fight Doran at SL120

I personally love how damn difficult Blighttown is because it adds so much to the experience and the overbearing horror it exudes. I just think it works so well with the way it fucks with you and makes you feel as if you are descending into an inescapable spiral into chaos (no pun intended with the chaos flame ridden areas proceeding it lmao) and terrifying despair. It's almost like a mirror to how the story feels as you delve deeper into it and uncover more about it you feel as if you are going down a spiral into chaotic despair and the inescapable grip of darkness of it's story that makes you feel powerless as you soon learn that no characters will have a happy ending, especially Seigmeyer and his daughter along with Solaire who gets afflicted with the Chaos Parasite and has to be killed. You uncover more dark and disturbing parts of the story as you go on further through the game and the descent into Blighttown and also The Depths really mirror that spiral that you take in the story.

I actually love the Crow Demons to be honest. I found them to actually be fun. And they look cool as fuck I also can't help but love the Covetous Demon he's just so adorable and I love destroying him and also love his lore

It wasn't Holy that blocked Meteor, it was the Lifestream Holy had been freed by defeating sephiroth (who was keeping it trapped) but *it was too late* and the clash with Meteor was causing even more destruction close to the surface of the planet. As Red said, it was *having the opposite effect* because the clash shouldn't happen that clsoe to the planet. Furthermore, Holy doesn'0t really care about collateral damage, and might even choose to wipe out humanity. Holy is the white/blue light. Then you can see the green strings, that is not holy, that is Lifestream, being led *directly* by Aerith. Unlike Holy, this is a force that cares about sentient life. Joining forces with Holy, the Lifestream manages to repel Meteor while also protecting everyone

I agree and I disagree with you I too dislike final Fantasy 12 because I wanted more of the same I too love final Fantasy 12 today But I still miss the old ways. In a perfect world they would remake final Fantasy 9. But not ruin the combat the way they did with final Fantasy. 7 remake

I love this game but yea, it took me years before I actually got around to finishing a full playthru. I’ve bought it on every platform & always liked playing, usually got thru Crimson Court & then at Champion once I’d collected the ancestor trinkets I wanted, I lost the will to do the final missions. I think it would help if there were more special, unique rewards for doing them

For pest threads, you can use a shield, either a medium or great shield, but the kindred of rot should be in front of you. If you have the barricade shield ability, you can easily deal with them with guard counters. Guard countering with barricade shield or a great shield is kind of effective with revenants, but you need stamina to absorb all the attacks

The one thing i really don't like about blasphamous 2 is there's not any side areas and I have a similar complaint with b1 but they added them (even if there a bit shid).

Dark Souls 3 isn't my favourite in the trilogy but man the End of Fire is ending is the perfect definitive ending for the series. It's like clutching an old dying bird, it's days of flying high long gone and having the fire keeper cradle the First Flame, with you standing beside them in its final moments of life is such a gut punchingly sad and beautiful ending imo. I sincerely hope there will never be a Dark Souls 4 because it just wouldn't feel right after ending.

When I play bloodborne I use the cainhurst armor boots , gauntlets and helmet ( or the crown)but wear the red and black cainhurst robes ...because I believe the cainhurst knights behaved like secret agents hiding in plain sight

On Radahn’s entry you forgot to mention he still rides his goofy little horse making the imposing doom general more closely resemble a slap stick comedy routine for the entirety of the fight. Shatters the atmosphere of that fight for me.

Even though i staunchly think Midir is top 3, if not #1, i enjoyed the video-- it's rare that a games youtuber can talk about the things they don't like and not make it super negative and obnoxious, so kudos. This video really highlights an interesting theme of the series as well, ie the tragically powerful last gasp of things that are on their last legs.

Thank you for this. I have been waiting years and years for someone to put my thoughts into words of this game in a proper analysis it deserves. I'de go to say i have come to the same exact conclusions on praises and critiques as you have. Ffxii bousts some of my absolute favorite childhood/teen gaming memories. The vast areas that feel full of intresting lore and variety, the story rich characters, the beautiful scenery, the hunts and dungeons of the main quest. Absolute masterpiece of a game that just pissed off too many people when it came out for being a bit too differrent. Some of the critique was justified though. The game in it's original form without sped up gameplay etc was a behemoth of a game and jeeeesus i put a fuck load of hours into it but boy did i love it. The most common complaint i hear is about Vaan. Concerning the characters i love the fact that Vaan is "just for the ride". Makes all the other characters sooo much more intresting when the character you control is in objectively in the background. It makes the experience so much different compared to traditional games where you start as a insecure teen and end up a universe blasting, terrorist beating, katana swinging beast of a demigod. The music and artistic style is beautiful and calm and makes up for a relaxing yet engaging experience throughout. One of the core streangths people rarely understand is how ffxii manages to keep areas interresting and create a sense on connectivity with options how to go around and about. The same thing goes with dark souls 1. The world is connected via several different routes from subarea to another. You are forced to return to earlier areas and unlock new shortcuts and connetions. This gives depth to areas and with that comes meaning. You feel like your in a real world. This is something that for example ds2 and ds3 didn't do and for that reason the world doesn't feel that connected as it does in ds1 blood borne or crosscode and of course ffxii. The hunts and changes in weather in some areas gives a wonderful touch to this as well. Like you said the dialog can be daunting and for a teen or even grownup it can be hard to follow. I could see ffxii being a stand alone HBO multi season series with hour long episodes. Personally i enjoyed it. Again it felt like a real world with a lot happening all the time everywhere. Most times games fall into stories that forget often that the rest of the world exist while shit happens and effects on other areas rarely is explained or believable. The combat is a hit or miss. Some love it some hate it. I loved it in the original form and the zodiak improved on it with the job selections giving character builds a lot of cool deapth and variety. the gambit system is super rewarding. I rarely like maxing things out or optimizing too much but ffxii makes it fun and simple to try out different gambits and combinations. Also for the first time ever in any jrpg you actually had something money was good good for. Like you said farming loot, selling and buying is really addictive and rewarding. I understand why someone might think it is pointless but i thought it was well executed.

A lot of those Dark Souls 2 levels near the bottom are co-op levels, right? Their design makes a lot more sense under that framework although I do think they are some of the weaker levels.

I firmly believe Astrea to be pure. She's falling into the martyr mentality and is absorbing the evilness. Afterall, power doesn't make you evil, it's what you do with it and even though she is the most corrupted, she is able to resist it. I don't believe that she knows the full effects of the old one and how it's plaguing the world. Also she didn't really betray anyone considering the God her order follows, the one that gives them miracles and healing powers is the Old One. That's the true irony of Demon's Souls.

The Nox are famous for replicating life forms, so much so that they are the ones who created albinaurics. The first generation of albinaurics, if I'm not mistaken, lost the movement of their legs over time. So he could be an albinauric experiment of the Nox who ingested many dragon hearts and became this being. This would explain him having a very humanoid shape for a dragon.
